What to Take

Light, summer clothes are all that is required but a sweater/jumper/ cardigan is recommended for the nights from May to November.
Restaurants don’t have real dress codes but remember the Tongans are religious and modest people, so wearing bikinis and bathers/swimmers and men going topless should be confined to the beaches and pool areas and not public places.
Don’t forget to carry enough sun block/suntan oil for the entire holiday as these items are expensive locally, sunburn cream, a hat, sunglasses, insect repellent, basic medical kit and something to read. Towels are nearly always supplied and take up valuable space in your luggage.
Snorkelling gear is always available, but some people prefer their own snorkel and mask.
