Getting to and from Vava'u and the Resort
Domestic flights operate daily from Nuku’alofa to Vava’u which is a 50-minute flight.
There are inter-island ferries operating to Vava’u weekly, if you have plenty of time, but these are usually more expensive than flying and can be cramped and wet. It is also somewhat off putting when they have names such as the Orange Vomit.
Buses and taxis operate in the bigger areas and there are rental cars at Vava’u. You can also rent bicycles and horses. But be wary of renting a horse because it usually comes WITHOUT a saddle or bridle.
