Currency and Banking
The national currency is the Pa’anga, divided into 100 seniti.

Banks are open in Neiafu, the tiny Vav’u capital, from 9am to 3.30pm Monday to Fridays. On Saturdays, the Westpac Bank of Tonga and the ANZ are open from 9am to 11.30am. The Malaysian Borneo Finance Bank is open from 9am till midday.
These banks are NOT open for international transaction on Saturdays.
The Westpac Bank has an ATM with Cirrus, MasterCard and Visa facilities.
